WAT BUDDHA SAMAKHEE BLENHEIM
วัดพุทธสามัคคี เมืองเบลนเน่ม ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์
Background
Due to Buddhists living in Blenheim and nearby have faith and determination to build a Buddhist temple in Blenheim, New Zealand for the center of merit-making, alms giving, keeping the precepts, and practicing meditation, and also to be the center of learning to preserve the good culture and traditions of Thailand. At the same time, it was also to spread Buddhism to the world to see more. So the Buddhist devotees kindly asked for advice from most venerable Phra Kitti Sophonvides, Abbot of the Wat Buddha Samakhee Christchurch and President of the Union of Thai Sanghas in Oceania, who was very pleased to assist.
Therefore, together with 7 other committees, Blenheim Thai Buddhist Charitable Trust was established and completed on May 8, 2017, using the name of the temple in Thai as "วัดพุทธสามัคคี เบลนเน่ม" (Wat Buddha Samakhee Blenheim)
The most venerable Phra Kitti Sophvides assigned to Phra Ajarn Dr. Maha Boonrien Papangkaro, with the qualification of Nak Dham Ek, Pali 4th grade, Ph.D., as the first abbot. Since June 26, 2017, and the temple was officially opened on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
